Ever since Andrew was arrested for suspicion of misconduct in public office and King Charles released a statement saying the investigation must take its course, people have been wondering what the relationship between the two is like. The British royal family as an institution protected Andrew from the consequences of his actions for many years, but we have clearly reached a point where the King could no longer look the other way. But how would Andrew react?
Reportedly, by begging. RadarOnline is saying that the King is still taking what insiders are categorizing as “daily begging calls” from his younger brother, with the outlet adding that the King feels like he’s being “bribed” into maintaining contact amid fears Andrew could “go rogue.”

It started from the moment Andrew was stripped of his titles and asked to vacate Royal Lodge. According to the outlet, his response at being told to leave the property was, “But I’m the Queen’s second son, you can’t do this to me!” And that attitude has reportedly continued.
“Charles is continuing to take what have been described as near-daily, almost pleading calls from Andrew because, in truth, he doesn’t feel he has the freedom to shut that door completely,” insiders said. “There’s a very real anxiety within the palace about how Andrew might react if he were fully cut off, and that uncertainty is driving a lot of the King’s decisions right now. It’s not a relationship being maintained out of warmth – it’s far more strategic than that.”
And it doesn’t look like there’s a way out of it. “Charles is, in effect, being pressured into keeping that line open because there’s a lingering fear Andrew could go rogue on the royal family if he feels isolated or backed into a corner. That possibility is something they simply can’t ignore,” the insider claimed.
This comes after royal expert Andrew Lownie, author of Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, told Woman’s Day that the palace is trying to “get away with putting a lid” on Andrew’s scandals.
“The fact that the Palace may have been complicit in perverting the course of justice seems to be a huge story,” Lownie claimed. ”I think the King should step down, I think he is compromised, but I don’t think he will,” he added.
King Charles released a statement after Andrew’s arrest, saying, “I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office. What now follows is the full, fair and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities.”
He added, “In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and co-operation. Let me state clearly: the law must take its course. As this process continues, it would not be right for me to comment further on this matter. Meanwhile, my family and I will continue in our duty and service to you all.”
Pretty clear.
